Our beloved Samuel G. Vereen, Jr. has entered into the immediate presence of our dear Lord and Savior. Join the family on Saturday, January 4th at 11:00 am at Belin Cemetery for graveside service, followed by a Celebration of Life reception at the home. In Lieu of flowers, Sam requested contributions be made to Tidelands Hospice, Georgetown, S.C.

I remember in 1974 during my mother's illness, one of the few things she could eat was Wayside clam chowder, and Mr. Sam made sure that she had plenty of it. He sent it to her by the
gallon. In reading these guest book entries, it is evident that Mr. Vereen was loved by many and is a testament of a life well lived. I am sure he would be proud of all the nice things people have
Written about him, and I feel sure that his family is comforted by it.

One of the highlights of our summer was a boat trip with Sam and Sarah down the Waccamaw River along with daughter Jessie and some of our friends. Sam was such a gracious host and a true Southern gentleman. We will miss him.

I will never forget the fishing trips he took us on the Monday after Labor Day. The barbques he gave for us at the river house are unforgettable.
