I knew Donnie back in the day when he was just a sub. I never knew anyone like him he is a true southern man. He would make us laugh. I am so blessed to have known Mr. Donnie. May God Bless your Family.

Donnie and I worked together for many years at St. James Elementary. We spent so many afternoons after school talking turkeys and deer, hunting and fishing, and car racing. Donnie had so many funny stories he told me about things he had done (some on which he made me promise not to tell!). Donnie had a good sense of humor, and I loved to hear him laugh when he really enjoyed something. But most of all he liked to talk about family...his mother and daddy, his brother and sister, and all his aunts and uncles. Love of family was extremely important to him, as was his extended family at St. James Elementary. He never missed an opportunity to show off his culinary skills to treat us to some of his homemade pies at Christmas parties. But what endeared me most of all to Donnie was his kindness and consideration of others. In all the years I worked with him, he never once said an unkind word about others. His laughter, his warmth, his genuine devotion to family...these are the things we remember. To Mrs. Cooper, Ginny, and Rodney...please know that someone as special as Donnie will never be forgotten. God has him now in His keeping; we have him forever in our hearts. Mrs. Nancy Rose, 2nd Grade Teacher
