Thomas E. Pickett, 61, died Monday, September 2, 2013 in Myrtle Beach, SC. Tom was born in Galion, Ohio to the late Robert and June Pickett. After graduating from Galion High School in 1970, he attended Miami University where he pledged Phi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and served as fraternity Treasurer and Captain of the tennis team. He graduated in 1974 with a degree in Computer and Information Science. Shortly after graduation, he married Janet Edwards as a small ceremony in Oxford, Ohio on July 20, 1974. Tom worked at Battelle Memorial Institute, started three companies-Tridacor, Votek and Singlepoint Systems- and also worked at Lucent Technologies. Most recently, he was employed at Qwest/CenturyLink. He was a devout Christian and was actively involved in his church, where he used his many talents to help those around him. Tom recently divided his time between Columbus, Ohio and Myrtle Beach where he loved the company of good friends, good food and walking along the beach in the evenings. He is survived by his sons Matthew and Andrew, daughter-in-law Jennifer, former wife Janet, brother Gerry and sister-in-law Kathy, and long-time friend Annshar Hsu. A small gathering of friends will take place at the Pier House Restaurant located at 110 North Ocean Boulevard, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577 at 11:00am. on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2013.
