Galivants Ferry….Wilbur R. Wise Jr., age 67 of Luck Rd. passed away January 15, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Wise was born in Florence, SC a son of the late Wilbur Wise Sr. and the late Nolie Powell Wise. Mr. Wise was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served in the United States Army. He retired from Grand Strand Water and Sewer. Mr. Wise was predeceased by one brother and one sister. Surviving Mr. Wise are his children, one son, Wilbur Rodney "Rock" Wise and his wife Garnette of Galivants Ferry, two daughters, Cindy Sarvis and her husband Kenny of Galivants Ferry, Wendy Player and her husband Tregg of Lexington, eight grandchildren, Kelby Sarvis, Ashlyn Sarvis, Reed Player, Logan Player, Brittany Gore, Katie Martin, Christina Martin, Dillon Martin, two brothers, and five sisters. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Wednesday January 16, 2013 at the residence of Mr. Wise, located at 1946 Luck Road, Galivants Ferry, SC 29511. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday January 17, 2013 at New Hope Church located at 719 North New Hope Road, Johnsonville, SC 29555 with the Rev. Norris Powell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Johnson Funeral Home of Aynor, PO Box 429 Aynor, SC 29511.
