William Houk Obituary

CONWAY | William ''Bill'' H. Houk, age 94, formerly of Oldsmar, Florida and Havana, Ill., died Sunday Aug. 14, 2005 at the Conway Medical Center.



Born April 17, 1911 in Sevierville, Tenn., he was a son of the late William Beecher and Jemima Webb Houk.



Mr. Houk was a life-time member of BPOE and the Knoxville Rotary Club. His career was in transportation services with Trailways and Greyhound Bus Companies. He retired as a Special Representative for the National Bus Military Bureau of the U.S. Department of Defense in Washington, D.C.



He was predeceased by wives Betty B. Houk and Irma (Pat) M. Houk; daughter Sharon Virgina Houk; brother, Claude Houk; nephew, Tom Houk; and step-daughter, Mickie Venters.



He is survived by his sisters Pearl H. Templin of Maryville, Tennessee, LaVerne H. Creel (Johnny) of Conway; brother Paul M. Houk (Mildred) of Maryville, Tennessee; nephews Kevin Houk of Jefferson City, Tennessee, David H. Templin, Maryville, Tennessee, and John W. Creel, Charlotte, N.C.; nieces Sandie Creel, Myrtle Beach and Cindy Epps, Matthews, N.C.; step-daughter, Patricia Kramer (Ron) of Illinois; step-sons Rodney (Ann) Lewis and Larry (RoyLene) Lewis of Va.; a special granddaughter, Tashina Venters of Ill; step-grandchildren Danny, Kevin, and Jeff Crum, Ill., and Joshua, Jason, Darina and Stacie Lewis of Va. and nine great-grand children.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005 at Goldfinch Funeral Home , Conway Chapel with the Rev. Carl Hunsucker officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m. Saturday Aug. 20, 2005 at Middle Creek Cemetery in Sevierville, Tenn.
