Mr. Christopher "Chris" Michael Browning, age 47, of Milton, Kentucky entered this life on May 15, 1974 in Madison, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late James Michael Browning and Ann Sachleben Pies.
He was a 1992 graduate of Trimble County High School where he was involved in FFA. He then attended Ivy Tech to further his career in tax preparation. Chris was blessed with a daughter, Taylor. He had worked for Bob Green Tax Service in Trimble County for many years and now owned and operated Browning's Tax Service. He was united in marriage to Lena May Riddle on September 20, 2014 at his home on the farm in his barn by Bro. Bob Hicks. This union blended two families together. He was a long-time member of the Mt. Byrd Christian Church in Milton and attended the North Madison Christian Church. He enjoyed his membership in the Kentucky Cattleman's Association and had served on the board and a member of the Trimble County Farm Bureau where he served on the board. Chris loved farming, cooking, collecting farm equipment and anything John Deere. His favorite destination was Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Chris began a courageous battle against Multiple Myeloma Cancer and fought the disease for seven years. Chris died on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee with his loving family at his side.
Chris will be missed by his loving wife, Lena May Riddle Browning of Milton, Kentucky; his loving daughter, Taylor Heveline and her husband, Cody of Milton, Kentucky; his step daughters, Jayde Means and her husband, Hunter of Madison, Indiana, Hayley Snelling of Milton, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Beckham Means, Hanson Heveline, Heston Heveline, and Mindy Gail Heveline; his mother, Ann Sachleben Pies of Madison, Indiana; his brothers, Mark Banta of Madison, Indiana, Kerry Pies of Milton, Kentucky; his sisters, Stephanie McLeod and her husband, Justin of Milton, Kentucky, Nicole Pies of Milton, Kentucky, Eugenia Marie Johnson and her husband, Jason of Virginia; his step mother, Deborah Lynn Clayton Browning of Abingdon, Virginia; his sisters in law and brothers in laws, Shirley Wright (Brent) of Sidney, Ohio, Lori Matthews (Todd) of Livingston, Tennessee, Candy Williamson (Gilbert) of Bethlehem, Kentucky, Jennifer Helton (Kyle) of Stamping Ground, Kentucky, Bonnie Kidd (Kenneth) of Stanford, Kentucky, Wilby Riddle of Stanford, Kentucky, Adam Riddle of Frankfort, Kentucky; his uncle and his aunt, Jeff and Debbie Browning of Deputy, Indiana; his uncle and his aunt, Danny and Connie Sachleben of Milton, Kentucky; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Michael "Mike" Browning, died November 29, 2021; his maternal grandparents, Robert Ernest Sachleben, died December 17, 1994 and Helen Lee Maddox Sachleben, died June 9, 2004; his paternal grandparents, John William Browning, died February 10, 2014 and Norma Lee Bowling Browning, died December 26, 1997; and his father-in-law, Wilbur Riddle, died November 18, 2017.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, March 11, 2022, at 1 p.m., by Bro. Aaron Snelling and Bro. Bob Hicks at the North Madison Christian Church, 1400 East State Road 62 in Madison, Indiana. Interment followed in the Hunter's Bottom St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery near Milton, Kentucky.
