Audrey N. Schou, 89, of Streator passed away Friday, September 9, 2022 at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care, Streator.
Private services will be held at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Streator.
Born August 6, 1933 in Mitchell, South Dakota she was the daughter of Clarence and Nina (Hedden) Dahl. Audrey was raised by her aunt and uncle, Clyde and Vivian Boyd. She married Robert C. Schou on January 14, 1953 at Immaculate Conception Church, Streator. He preceded her in death on December 18, 2016.
She is survived by her daughters, Denice (Jim) Nonneman of Springfield, Paula Christensen of Ottawa, Darlene (Tony Pleskovitch) Klag of Ottawa and Janice (Michael) Lewandowski of Streator; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and a sister, Bonnie Renner of Peoria.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Nina Dahl and Clyde and Vivian Boyd; a daughter, Roberta Thompson; sisters, Donna Pierce, Wanda Johnson, Beverly Lester and Winnie Hilliard; and a brother, Dallas Dahl.
Born and raised in South Dakota she moved to Streator in 1942. She attended St. Mary's Grade School and graduated from Streator High School in 1951.
Primarily a homemaker through the years Audrey also worked for St. Mary's Hospital as a Nurse's Aide. She was an active volunteer with U.C.T. and the Streatorland Food Pantry where she served as the President for many years.
She was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church, St. Anthony Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Parish.
