Brian McIntyre Obituary

Brian P. McIntyre
Born: September 3, 1944
Died: March 10, 2025
Brian P. McIntyre went to be with his Heavenly Father on March 10, 2025. He was born on September 3, 1944, in Chicago, IL, to Peter and Rita (Gilskey) McIntyre.
Brian had a lifelong career in sales: cars, rolling shutters, windows, siding, and sunrooms, however, it was through his most recent endeavor, Two Rivers Outreach, where he found his true calling! He received a new lease on life after he was the gracious recipient of two liver transplants. After his second transplant, he decided to enroll in college, again, this time pursuing an Associate's Degree in Human Services with a focus on Substance Abuse Counseling.
Brian was a pillar in the recovery community, having achieved over 33 years of being clean and sober himself. He often said, "You can't keep it if you don't give it away." He lived by this motto for years; sponsoring, encouraging, and tough loving on all that needed him.
Brian is survived by: his loving wife of over 20 years, Jerrine; his children, Patrick (Amy) McIntyre, Cavan (Tara) McIntyre, and Kathleen McIntyre; his granddaughter, Aubry McIntyre, the mother of his children and friend, Janet McIntyre; his brother, Gerald (Ann) McIntyre; his nephew, Craig McIntyre; his aunt, Loretta Malloy; his bonus son, David Fowler; Jerrine's children, Erik (Gina) Carlson, Andrea (Corky) Spicer; their children and grandchildren, and several brothers and sisters through sobriety.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Rita McIntyre.
He was a longtime attender of Crossbridge Community Church in Ottawa, IL.
Memorials may be directed to the Ottawa Alano Club at 224 ½ W. Main Street, Ottawa, IL 61350.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a celebration of life in Brian's honor will be held at a later date.

Im so saddened to hear of my friend Brians passing. The world is a better place because he was here. They say a man never truly dies until people stop speaking his name. If that's true, Brian will live in the hearts of many for a very long time.
