Charleen Marie (Buckardt) Seville, 84, left her earthly home on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at her home in rural Sheridan, IL. Charleen Marie Buckardt was born September 16, 1938 in Waterman, IL to Elmer and Marie (Larson) Buckardt. She was raised on her father's homestead farm. Charleen married Frank Seville on September 12, 1959 in Leland at Bethany Lutheran Church. They were high school sweethearts. They shared 42 years of marriage while raising four children in a home that valued family. She attended the Wesson Country School for her first four years, then went to Leland Grade School, graduated from Leland High School in 1956. In 1959, graduated from Swedish-American School of Nursing in Rockford. She worked at Woodward Memorial, Sandwich Community Hospital and retired from Valley West Community hospital for a total of 38 years. It was her home away from home. She was a proud farmers wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Enjoyed church, school, and social events with her family. A Neighborhood Chairman for Sybaquay Girl Scouts Council for Leland, Somonauk, Earlville, Shabbona and Waterman for few years. Enjoyed volunteering at hospital gift shop and hospital Auxiliary, Our Sharing Pantry, Leland Town and Country Association, Sons Of Norway Lodge 5-525 in Norway, IL and Norway Museum and being on their boards. Volunteer at the Fox Valley Older Adult Services in Sandwich. She was generous with her time being an active member of Leland Bethany Lutheran Church. Traveling was also very important with family and friends with camping and seeing many different parts of United States. First over sea's trip was to Spain with their daughter's Spanish class, also traveled to the Caribbean, Hawaii, Norway, Agriculture trip to the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland, Alaska, and enjoyed trips with The Somonauk Citizens Bank. She is survived by three daughters, Twyla (Michael) Ottowitz of Roscoe, IL, Gayla (Jeffrey) Buhler of Leland, IL, Sheila Atwell of Neoga, IL; one son, Fred (Angela) Seville of Leland, IL; ten grandchildren, Ireland, Teagan, Tim (Nicole), Cory (Emily), Jonathan, Jessica, Jaclyn, Mary, Adam and Madalyn; four great-grandchildren, Ethan, Brooklyn, Liam and Charlee; two brothers, Everett (Mimi) and Elmer Jon (Karen), two sisters-in-law, Nancy Seville, and Mary Alice Seville, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Frank Seville; brother, Russell (Joan) Buckardt; sister-in-law, Elaine Buckardt; son-in-law, Freddie Atwell, and one brother-in-law, Gary Seville. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2022 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Leland with Pastor Hope Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Little Indian Creek Cemetery in Leland, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials gifts can be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, the Open Door in Sandwich, Norwegian Center Inc.
