Died: July 17, 2021 in Streator, IL
Danielle L. "Danie" Madsen, 28 of Streator passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021 at OSF Center for Health, Streator.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator. Visitation will be for one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded after the services. Memorial contributions may be made to For the Love of Pets.
Danie was born March 4, 1993 in Chicago, a daughter of Richard and Karen (Snyder) Madsen.
She is survived by her father, Richard Madsen; her mother, Karen McCumsey; step-father, Marshall McCumsey, all of Streator; three brothers, James (Jess McAlpine) Merutka, Scott Madsen and Lucas McCumsey, all of Streator; a sister, Samantha (Danny Stephens) McCumsey of Effingham; nieces and nephew, Elise and Ethan Merutka, and soon to be born, Callie Wren. Also surviving are step-brothers, Richard Madsen and Matthew Madsen; uncles and aunts, Benjamin Gagliardo, Dominic Gagliardo and Victor Gagliardo all of Streator, Dan (Sue) Franke of Indianapolis, IN, Cindy (Mike) Espinosa of Morton Grove, and Patricia Ward of Streator.
Danie was a volunteer at For the Love of Pets.

This is nothing short of a tragedy, you died on your nieces birthday, our hearts are broken for you, for your brothers and sisters, mother and father, your cousins, uncle's and aunt's all your close friends that loved you so much, most importantly for my 8 yr old daughter who loved you so much (your niece) we will never forget this, even if we wanted to we can not and will not.
I love you so much! One of my best friends in the whole world, my family, my sister from another mister.

Danie, the fight is over, you can be at peace. I know how bad you wanted it but it was just too powerful. But you were so strong snd you fought so hard. Its okay now...the battle has been won and the world has one amazing guardian angel. You are so loved by many. We will see you after awhile. See ya later Danie-bug.

Danie had such an infectious laughter. She could light up even the darkest of days with her smile. My heart breaks for her family, and opportunities that she could have had. We all mourn for the loss of this brilliant light, so soon extinguished from our world. Rest now Danie. When the gentle wind blows through the trees, we will know that it's you, still watching over your family.
