Died: May 14, 2023 in Colfax, IL.
Donald A. Novak, 74, of Colfax, Illinois, formerly of Streator, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Private family burial will be held at Riverview Cemetery, Streator. The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Born on February 15, 1949 in Streator, he was the only child of the late, Robert and Lois (White) Novak of Streator.
After attending Streator schools, he served in the United States Navy, following in the footsteps of his father. Don's "gift of gab" was apparent whenever his beloved Chicago Cubs team was mentioned. Being an avid fan, he was ecstatic with their 2016 World Series Championship.
Don was a man of many talents; the most cherished being his genuine love and generosity for his family and friends, resulting in his feeling of never being able to do enough for others.
Along with numerous relatives, he is survived by his longtime companion, LaShawn Smith and his son, Eric Novak. Don will be sorely missed by all who were privileged enough to have known him.
