Died: September 2, 2025 in Nixa MO
Edward Eugene Friant Sr., a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and a resident of Nixa, Missouri, was born in Pontiac, Illinois on March 8, 1944. Edward, known for his loving nature and funny personality, passed away on September 2, 2025. A man of strength, resilience, and an unyielding love for his family, Edward's legacy is one that will be etched in the hearts of those he touched.
Edward served in The United States Air Force from 1961-1967. He is a veteran of the Vietnam War. He will be buried with Honors.
Edward's dedication extended beyond his work life; he was a proud member of the Mendota Moose Club and the VFW of Mendota. His vibrant personality and genuine love for life were evident in everything he did.
Edward is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Carol; his children, Debbie, Tina, Susan, Jeff, Edward Jr, Scott, and step-son James Koerner; his brother, Dennis; 22 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Marjorie Alene; his sons, James Sr. and Gordon; his grandson, Darnell; and his sister, Carolyn. Each one of these individuals held a special place in Edward's heart and contributed to the rich tapestry of his life.
Edward's final resting place will be at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Ellwood, IL, in the spring of 2026.
