Born: April 8, 1956 in Ottawa, IL
Died: May 12, 2025 in Morris, IL
Gary L. Taylor, age 69, of Freedom Township, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025 at the Morris Hospital
Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2025 in the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa, with Rev. Phillip Potaczek, officiating. Burial will be in Freedom Lutheran Cemetery.
Mr. Taylor was born on April 8, 1956, in Ottawa, to Leslie R. and Dorothy C. (Ohme) Taylor, of Earlville. He was a graduate of Serena High School, Class of 1974, where he was in the National Honor Society, and served as a class officer his senior year. He was very active in Serena FFA, and received the State Farmer Degree, 1st Place in Livestock Production for Section 7 FFA, and 2nd place in Corn Production for Section 7 FFA. He farmed his entire life. He loved farming and was very meticulous in his farming and his machinery.
Mr. Taylor was a member of the Harding United Methodist Church, LaSalle County Farm Bureau, the Mendota Elks Club, and the Sandwich Moose Club. He was a lifelong Cubs Fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Dale Taylor.
Memorials may be directed to: Freedom Lutheran Church or the Starved Rock Regional Center for Therapy and Child Development.
