Joan Josephine Buffo, 94, previously of Marseilles, passed away Monday, February 17, 2025, in Arlington Heights, Illinois.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles at a later date.
Joan was born May 17, 1930, to Jerome and Sonia Hanley in Chicago. In 1953 she married Richard J Buffo of Marseilles, who preceded her in death in 2008.
Joan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked as a bookkeeper and homemaker, enjoyed playing bridge, volunteered at her church, and served as a poll worker. She also loved gardening, was an avid reader of romance and mystery novels, and loved to bake and crochet for family and friends.
She is survived by three children, Dianne, Douglas, and Dirk; two daughters-in-law, Sandy Buffo and Michele Buffo; three grandchildren, Derek (Jackie) Buffo, Jonathan (Sarah) Buffo, and Megan (Jay) Timm; and seven great-children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters, and her eldest son, Richard.
