Joan Labieniec Obituary

Joan (Howe) Labieniec
Born: April 25, 1960
Died: April 15, 2024
Joan (Howe) Labieniec, 63, of Homer Glen, IL, passed away on April 15, 2024 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, IL, from kidney cancer, which she faced with great courage and grace.
She was born on April 25, 1960 in Ottawa, IL, to James and Rita (Thompson) Howe. She is survived by her two sons, Bryan and Jonathan Labieniec, her brother, Bill (Peggy) Howe of Plano, TX, and multiple nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special friend and partner of 27 years, Tom Ciechanowski. She is preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, James and Bob Howe.
She attended Milton Pope School and Seneca High School, and obtained a BS degree and RN certification from St Francis University. She was an amazingly kind and caring nurse, very much loved and admired by her co-workers.
She will be cremated and interned next to her brother, Bob Howe, at the Stavanger Lutheran Cemetery in Seneca, IL. A graveside service will be held May 11, 2024, at 11am with Pastor Phil of the Stavanger Lutheran Church giving prayers and blessings.
Erin and Randy Howe have so generously invited everyone attending to join us for lunch afterward at their home, details and directions to be provided at the service.
