John Robinson
John V. Robinson (December 14, 1953 - July 22, 2024) passed away on the morning of July 22nd at the OSF Richard Owens Hospice Center in Peoria, IL while surrounded by his children. John was the 5th of 7 children and graduated high school from East Aurora. He worked and retired from Caterpillar in Montgomery, where he worked 32 years as a CNC Machinist. After retirement, he worked his dream retirement job at Home Hardware in Ottawa for the last 13 years. John enjoyed spending time with his family, watching the Chicago Bears, and enjoyed tending his garden. He was a member of the American Legion in Ottawa, and a member of St. Columba Church in Ottawa. He is survived by his son John Robinson of Morton, his daughter, Jana (Jake) Callahan of Marseilles, his grandson Ashton Callahan of Marseilles, sister Colleen Ambre of Aurora, brother Larry Robinson of Oswego, brother Mick Robinson of Temple, TX, his girlfriend Kelli Wenglewski and her children and grandchildren of Ottawa, the mother of his children, Jill Robinson, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John, mother Loraine, brother Neal, and sisters Pat and Nancy.

A visitation for John will be held at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home located at 1601 E. Norris Drive in Ottawa on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A memorial service for John will follow at 7:00 pm. As it was John's wishes, Aqua Cremation rites will be accorded after.
