Joseph Lynn Hoffman, 79, of Marseilles, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.
Funeral services were private with Rev. Joe Schripsema officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
Joseph was born on January 22, 1946, in Ransom, IL, to Irwin and Ida (Geheber) Hoffman. In 1993, he married Anita Keneipp of Marseilles who survives.
Joe was employed by A&R Transport for over 40 years until his retirement. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Anita; his children, Todd Hoffman, Dawn (Mario Sr.) Dorestal; and Amy Hoffman; his stepson, Matt (Amy) Tyack; ten grandchildren, Mario Jr. and Riley Dorestal, Courtney and Kaitlyn Zaragoza, Andrea Entwistle, Nolan, Preston, and Grayson Conner, and Emily, and Miranda Tyack; two sisters, Betty Donovan and Marge Hoffman; and many nieces and nephews, including Carol Crawford who he was especially close to.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Leon Hoffman, Helen Morris, Phyllis Canale, and Robert Hagi.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the Marseilles Nursing Service.

Joe was such a great guy, he always talked about going south to visit his kids and grand kids. Always had a smile on his face. He will be miss.

I met Joe , Nita many years ago at the 820 in streator. Always had a smile on his face . We watched many parades from their front yards spraying people with the water hose in Marseilles. Oh the memories, thanks Joe rest easy.

I met Joe back in high school and we played ball together when he was a junior. Good guy from the start and a competitor. Had a great sense of humor. He was a friend I saw infrequently, but a friend I won´t forget. My condolences to his family.
