Died: May 30, 2022 in Streator, Illinois
Joseph Patrick Yanello, 78, a lifetime resident of Streator, died peacefully in his sleep after a short illness on May 30, 2022. Joe spent most of his career working as a technical advisor for the State of Illinois. 'Pasta', as he was referred to by his many friends enjoyed relaxing at his cabin, cooking, tailgating, and dining.
Survivors include one son, Joe (wife Lisa) of Mahomet, Grandson, Nick of Scottsdale Arizona, and sister, Mary Ellen of Streator.
He was preceded in death by son, Lee, and Parents Mosey and Barbara (Clark).
A celebration of life is scheduled for the July 4th weekend at Cali's Bar in Streator.

Sincere sympathies to Joe, Nick, family & friends. Our family knew Joe for 40+years and we will miss him dearly. He was a generous man who shared his time by doing for others and showed his love by cooking and sharing with others! He was known in the community for his wonderful marinara & lasagna. The Best! Thank you Joe for your recipe but know it will never be to your greatness. We enjoyed time in CA - Monterey, SF, Sonoma-Wine Country, the Casino and horse races. Enjoyed the quiet at your cabin on the river. One visit back, Eataly-Chicago just opened and Joe talked about wanting to go - so off we went! I will truly miss our annual tenderloin & beer lunches during my visits to Ottawa. It won't be the same. So many, many memories in our hearts - A very good friend, good man with a big Italian heart. "Pasta" you are loved and will be missed greatly.
