Judith Lorene Soulsby, 80, of Ottawa, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ottawa, with Rev. Philip Potaczek, Pastor, officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa and at the church, one hour prior to the service, on Tuesday. Burial will take place at St. Andrews Cemetery, on a later date.
Judy was born on September 13, 1944 to Runnard and Wilma (Baker) Nielsen. She was a graduate of Lostant High School and Midstate College. Judy married John "Jack" Soulsby on November 13, 1965 at St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa. She worked for many years as one of the school cooks at Grand Ridge Grade School. Judy was also a farm wife, who enjoyed gardening, travel, reading, and watching the Cubs. She also loved spending time with her friends and family, especially attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren activities.
She is survived by her husband, Jack; four children, Joe (Connie) Soulsby, Jack (Stacey) Soulsby, Ruthann (Todd Boe) Chapman, and Rosie (Phil) Walker; seven grandchildren, Jacey Chapman, Monica (Joe) Leskanich, Mitchell (Kristen) Soulsby, Drew (Carsyn) Walker, Kelsey Chapman, Emily Walker, and Madilyn Soulsby; three great grandchildren, Vincent, Vittoria, and Denver Leskanich; two brothers, Jim (Terry) Nielsen and Jerry (Jill) Nielsen; and a sister Joyce (Mark) Wright.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son-in-law Jeff Chapman.
