Died: October 4, 2024 in Palm Beach Gardens, FL
Leon Ray Hoffman, 89 of Lake Worth, Florida, formerly of Ransom, IL passed away Friday, October 4, 2024 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
His funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator, with Pastor Joe Schripsema officiating. Burial will follow in Allen Township Cemetery, Ransom. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 PM Wednesday prior to services at the funeral home.
Leon was born September 24, 1935 in Dwight, IL, a son of Irwin and Marian (Kates) Hoffman. He married Patricia Marie Promenshenkel on January 21, 1957 in Davenport, IA. She preceded him on September 7, 2023.
He is survived by a son, Kelly Hoffman of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; two daughters, Leslie Hoffman of Lake Worth, FL and Cherie Hoffman of Cincinnati, OH; and two grandchildren, Tristan Hoffman and Emma Hoffman. Also surviving is a sister, Marge Hoffman of Lake Worth, FL; and a brother Joe Hoffman of Ottawa, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patricia; a daughter, Guanda Hoffman; and a son, Terry Hoffman; and a step-brother and sister-in-law, Bob (Linda) Hagi.
Leon attended the Streator grade schools and graduated from Dwight High School. He attended the University of Colorado on a football scholarship. He worked as a heavy machinery mechanic.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
