Linda L. Barr, 81, of Burr Ridge, IL, formerly of Arlington Heights, IL, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025. She was born on March 31, 1943 the daughter of Vernon and Marian Schmoeger in Spring Valley, IL.
Linda was a retired middle school English teacher and counselor, working in Schaumburg District 54 her entire career. She was an avid reader, bridge player, and she loved cross-stitching and needlepointing for her family and friends. Linda enjoyed gardening and was especially proud of her rose bushes. She was a collector of bird houses and found solitude watching birds feed in her backyard.
Linda is survived by her children, Amy (James) Braun and Brian (Diane) Barr; grandchildren, Delaney, Thomas, and Elisabeth; siblings, Jane (Bruce) Dresner and David (Joyce) Schmoeger.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Barr Jr.; and her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made under Linda's name to either the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, Alzheimer's Association, or the American Cancer Society.
Memorial visitation Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM, with a time of sharing starting at 4:30 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment private.
