Born: May 25, 1921 in Ransom, IL
Died: June 28, 2021 in Streator, IL
Mavis A. Bruner, 100 of Streator passed away Monday morning (June 28, 2021) at Liberty Village of Streator.
A memorial Mass will be 11:00 AM Friday, July 2, 2021 at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Fr. Austin Bosse will officiate. Inurnment will follow the mass in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Ransom. Cremation rites have been accorded. Following Mavis's wishes, there will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Hagi Funeral Home, Streator is in charge of arrangements.
Mavis was born May 25, 1921 in Ransom, the daughter of Leonard J. and Cecelia (Casey) Bruner. She attended the Ransom School and graduated from Streator High School in 1939.
Mavis was the last of her family and preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Calvin Bruner.
She is survived by cousins, Patricia Dzuris of Estes Park, CO and Susan Knutson of Mokena, IL; and close friend, Gail McClernon of Streator.
Mavis worked in the accounting department for General Tire and HD Electric both in Chicago. She later worked for Smith Douglas for 34 years, retiring in 1981.
She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish and a former member of Immaculate Conception Church.
Mavis was an avid golfer and a former member of Twin Creeks and Anderson Golf Courses.
