Richard Galetti
Born: August 10, 1947 in Spring Valley
Died: January 30, 2024 in Henry
Richard L. "Rick" Galetti, 76, of Henry, passed away Tuesday January 30, 2024, 6:19 am at Henry Rehab & Nursing.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday February 17, 2024, at the Henry American Legion, beginning at 11:00 AM. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Red Stocking Fund or to the Henry Ambulance Service. Calvert & Johnson Memorial Home, Henry is assisting the family with arrangements.
Rick was born August 10, 1947, in Spring Valley, IL to John and Dollie (Langley) Galetti. He married Jean Taylor on May 17, 1969, in Chillicothe, IL. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Kathryn J. (Rich) De Witt, of New Baden and Anthony "Tony" Galetti, of Henry, his grandchildren, Amber and Noah Galetti, and great grandchildren, Annabel and Ganon Kelly, his siblings, Terry Galetti, of Peoria, Frank (Sandra) Crew, of Standard, Dorothy Hjerpe, of Matton, Dee (Bob) Chase, of Camden, AR, Judy (Jack) Dalton, of Varna, Joyce Crew, of Minonk, David Crew, of Bloomington, and Heather (Doug) Crokern, of Jackson, MS.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, and one brother, JJ Galetti.
Rick had worked as a water treatment plant operator and boiler operator at the Hennepin steel mill. He retired in 2008. He had also worked as a school bus monitor for Henry-Senachwine Schools for several years.
Having had Polio, Rick was the poster child for The March of Dimes, for Spring Valley and LaSalle County area when he was a child. He enjoyed camping, fishing, canoeing and traveling.
