Died: July 9, 2022 in Ottawa, IL
Richard A. Holcomb, 59, of Marseilles, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 14 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. John Patterson of Parkview Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles.
He was born on May 21, 1963, in Morris, to Donald Joel and Alice Louise (Sterba) Holcomb. On July 21, 2007, he married Gayle Lewis of Morris who preceded him in death on January 18, 2022.
Rick graduated from Marseilles High School in the class of 1981. He was employed as a roofer and a handyman until his retirement. He loved Bingo, the outdoors, singing, dancing, and karaoke. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan.
He is survived by his children, Angie, Paul, Richard Jr. (Amanda), Crystal, and Lisa Holcomb; two stepchildren, Michelle Budach and Gary (Sara) Budach; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one sister, Darlene (John) Reilly; one brother, Keith (Patricia) Holcomb; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Gayle.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
Pallbearers will be Kenny, Andy, AJ, Philip, Vern, and Blake.
