Richard Wayne Lefler
Born: March 6, 1951 in Paterson, NJ
Died: March 25, 2026 in Long Point, IL
Richard "Rick" W. Lefler, 75 of Long Point passed away Wednesday (March 25, 2026) at his home.
Following cremation, a visitation will be held Wednesday (Apr. 1st) from 6 – 8 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday (Apr. 2nd) at 10AM at the Central Church of Christ.
Rick was born on March 6, 1951, in Paterson, NJ to Paul and Lelia (Cox) Lefler. He married Spring Kidd on October 9, 1976. She survives.
Also surviving are children, Kelly Lefler, Alexander Lefler, Christofer Lefler, Marlee (Ryne) Reel and Charles Lefler all of Long Point, grandchildren, Cole, Blaine, Ali, Melody, Elizabeth, Rylee, Victoria, Piper, Henry, Colby and Ripley, mother Lelia Cox of Streator, brothers, Stanton Lefler of Texas, William (Shelly) Lefler of Kansas, sister, Anita Vickers of Kentucky, sister in law Starla Moore of Long Point and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, in laws Charles and Martha Moore, brother in laws, Randall Kidd and Barry Vickers and sister-in-law Lucy Lefler.
Rick retired from BNSF Railroad; he was a member of the Central Church of Christ where he taught Sunday school. He was active in coaching soccer and baseball, bowling and Engle Lane Theater.
Memorials may be made to the Central Church of Christ or Engle Lane Theater.
