Died: April 10, 2022 in Ottawa, IL
Robert F. Pecenka, 87, of Ottawa, died Sunday, April 10, 2022 at the Ottawa Pavilion.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Ottawa with the Rev. Randy Mortenson, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Ottawa. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 15, at Mueller Funeral Home and one hour prior to services, at the church, on Saturday.
Bob was born July 28, 1934, in Chicago, to Frank and Julia (Bischoff) Pecenka. He married Lillian C. Fischer on April 27, 1957, in Chicago. They were married 46 years.
Bob was a devoted husband, loving father, adored grandfather, and revered great grandfather. He was a lover of and giver of treats, hard-working jack-of-all-trades, good Samaritan, fun-lover, jokester, trickster, and story teller extraordinaire. He retired as Maintenance Coordinator of the Ottawa Elementary School District in 2002.
He is survived by sisters-in-law Teri Fischer of Ottawa, and Beth (Erich) Pohlman of Sandwich; three sons, Timothy of Tucson, AZ, James (Sherri) of Spring Hill, FL, and Michael (James) of Boston, MA; 10 grandchildren, Nicholas (Stacey) Pecenka, Kristen (Chad) Humbers, Stacey (Miguel) Juarez, Amanda, James, and Zachary Pecenka, Debbie Pohlman, John Wilson, A.J. Wilson, and Jennifer (R.J.) Rasor; 13 great grandchildren, Addison and Jackson Pecenka, Carter and Cameron Humbers, Malashia, Robert and Scarlet Juarez, Emery Powel, Quinn Pohlman, Ari, Audrey, and Donald Baznik Wilson, and Russel Rasor.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian, parents, and a brother, Ray.
