Sharon Lee Huminsky, of South Haven, Mich., passed away on Feb. 21, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Sharon was born on Jan. 29, 1949, on the Southside of Chicago.
She attended Kelly High School and was crowned Queen of State Street.
In the late '60s, Sharon moved to Michigan, where she married and raised five children on a horse farm in Grand Junction.
She and her children were exposed to the beauty of nature, animals, birds and rail trails.
She will be remembered for taking walks with her children in the pine forests and picking mushrooms and teaching them about the sounds of birds, especially the wood duck that lived in the apple orchard in a nearby field.
In the 1980s, Sharon began working at Perrigo and later retired after 17 years as the flight director for Wings of Mercy.
She had a passion for antiquing and crafting, specifically using dried plants and flowers during autumn to make arrangements that were always unique and special.
She also cherished the time spent with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
Known for her warm heart and open door, Sharon never met a stranger and made many friends throughout her life that meant the world to her.
She was a devout Christian who never wavered in her faith and was a member of Saint Basil Catholic Church for many years.
Sharon is survived by her siblings, Joe Mackinac, Tom (Kathy) Wrzesinski, Jamie (Alica) Wrzesinski and Robin Wingate; her children, David Antony, Paul (Akgul Akpinarli) Antony, Jack P. (Teri) Huminsky, and Sarah Huminsky; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Asher Huminsky, her sister Joan Loeb, her brother-in-law, John Wingate and family friends Carter Antony, Earl Norling and Floyd Antony.
Sharon will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Services will be held at Saint Basil's Catholic Church this summer, to be announced at a later date.
