Steven Natt, 81, of Streator, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at the Arc at Streator nursing home with his family at his bedside.
Born September 12, 1942 in Streator, he was the son of the late Stephen & Mary (Harbach) Natt. He attended Woodland High School and graduated in 1961. He is survived by his current wife, Margaret (Huber-Hallam) Natt, married on May 3, 2003; his children Mary(Natt) Nink of Chenoa, Steven Natt of Streator, and stepchildren Scott (Kris) Hallam of Streator and Michelle (Jeremy) Wiesbrock of Lacon, his sisters, Margaret (William) Vercimak of New Lenox, formerly of Streator and Irene (Gary) Russow of Ancona, his brothers John (Joyce) Natt of Streator, and Tony (Denise) Natt of Streator, Godson Eric Russow of Heyworth, formerly of Streator, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife, Grace Ann (Weiss) Natt which were married November 29, 1969 until her passing August 13, 2000. Also preceded by his sister, Mary Jean Dudak (Edward) of Streator, and his nephew Alan Dudak of Algonquin, formerly of Streator.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1964-1968 with Company C 802nd Engineer Battalion at Camp Ames Korea, with honorable discharge. While in the service, he worked as an electrician. After the service, he worked at Mean's Clean Towel Service and attended night school in Champaign for electrical workers. He became a Journeyman Electrician with IBEW Local 601, spending several years employed by Durham Electric in Pontiac, as well as working at LaSalle Nuclear Station in Marseilles. He worked through IBEW Local 601 until his retirement.
He enjoyed hunting & fishing throughout the years. He also loved snowmobiling and riding motorcycles. He was a jack of all trades; from home remodeling & building furniture to fixing his cars & plumbing for his home. He personally taught his son to weld. He also taught both of his children how to use firearms responsibly and entered his son in local competition for the sharpshooter class.
There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date, for family and friends to honor and remember him.

Even though Steve and I were 20 years different in age we got along very well. I enjoyed his wit and friendship. He was a good Journeyman. I have included a picture of the time we were famous, LOL. I am sorry to hear of his passing.
