Born: May 22, 1941 in Streator, IL
Died: July 12, 2025 in Streator, IL
Tad K. Robertson, 84 of Streator passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his family.
A memorial mass will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, July 18, 2025 at St. Michael the Archangel Parish, Streator, with Fr. Francis Strong officiating. Military rites will be performed by the Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492 following the mass at the church. A private family burial of ashes will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Flanagan. Cremation rites have been accorded. Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator have been entrusted with arrangements.
Tad was born May 22, 1941 in Streator, a son of Donald and Dorothy (Helm) Robertson. He was formerly married to Dianne Bedeker. Together they had three children, Scott, Beth and Chad.
He is survived by his children, Scott (Karen) Robertson of Morris, Beth (Les) Berta of Streator, and Chad (Amy) Robertson of Fishers, IN; his life partner, Peg Melvin of Streator; 5 grandchildren, Kayla (Brian) Dunavan, Tyler Berta, Ashlyn Robertson, Andrew Robertson, and Aubrey Robertson; and one great grandson, Lucas Dunavan. Also surviving is a brother, Max Robertson of Seneca.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jack, Jerry and Paul Robertson; and two sisters, Gail McClernon and Norma Nevin.
Tad was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Streator. He was a member of the Streator Eagles Club and the Streator American Legion.
Tad served in the United States Navy, was a bricklayer/mason and a member of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers local 79 for over 50 years where he received his 50 year gold card.
Tad enjoyed golfing, traveling and working on various house projects. His happy place was in Florida.
He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandson and cherished the time spent with them.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul at St. Michael's or a charity of the donors choice.
