Wayne Allen Goodchild, 61, of Ottawa, passed away on December 4, 2025 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa, IL with family present.
A burial and service will take place at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.
Wayne was born on July 21, 1964 in Ottawa to Gerald and Nina (Schultheis) Goodchild. He graduated from Ottawa Township High School in 1983. Wayne worked as a glass maker for 10 years at Peltier Glass Factory, and machine operator at various other factories in the area such as Impact Industries, Unytite, and Cookie Kingdom. He enjoyed doing small engine repairs, customizing motorcycles, hiking, reading, gardening, and playing video games (especially Skyrim).
He is survived by his father, Gerald of Ottawa, IL; mother, Nina (John) Damron of Stephenson, MI; brother, Kevin (Melanie) Goodchild; and nephew and niece Duncan and Kali Goodchild all of Ottawa, IL. As well as cousins, step siblings and their families.
Preceded in death by his step-mother, Birdie Goodchild.
