William Lidinsky Obituary

William T. Lidinsky
Died: February 13, 2024
William T. Lidinsky, age 60 of Sandwich, IL passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. He was born on September 25, 1963 in Berwyn, IL, the son of William P. and Barbara (Stehlik) Lidinsky. He grew up in Naperville, IL where he attended Waubonsee Valley H.S. Bill then went on to graduate from NIU with a degree in journalism.
Bill was united in marriage on April 20, 1994 to the former Miss Sherry Cosyns, and they spent the next 29 years happily together. Bill was always a man that valued family and creating traditions. One of the traditions Bill loved the most was visiting Round Lake in Hayward, WI with his family. He enjoyed fishing for late night walleye and sitting around the fire. He loved to snorkel around weed beds with his sons.
Bill enjoyed his time in nature and even more so his love of trees. He found being in nature by hiking, being on the boat, or walking off into the forest to be one of his greatest enjoyments in life. Most of all, he enjoyed spending his time with family and being in the moment.
Bill had a passion for sports journalism. He worked for many years in journalism and effected many lives. You would be hard pressed to find someone in the sports world he did not know. Trips to the store would often require frequent stops because he loved to talk with everyone he knew. But this was one of his greatest strengths as a person and professional. He built strong relationships that would last a lifetime.
He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Lidinsky of Sandwich, IL; his sons, Alec (Brooke) Lidinsky of Cuba City, WI, Marc Lidinsky (Gianna Rodriguez Intagliata) of Columbus, OH, and Nicolas Lidinsky of Sandwich, IL; his parents, William and Barbara Lidinsky of Naperville, IL; his sister, Cathy Lang of Byron, IL; as well as three nephews and one niece.
Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Nelson Funeral Home, 1275 South County Line Road, Sandwich, IL 60548.
An open service will be held at 5:00 PM on Sunday, February 18, 2024 where friends and family may share a brief word or story of Bill to remember him. Arrangements by Nelson Funeral Homes, www.NelsonFuneralHomes.com or 815-786-6461.

Bill was a kind, sweet man. Knew him first via youth football. And seen him after via the press box atop the Seneca HS FB bleachers. After everything he has survived, news of his passing comes with much grief. My deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and his readers.

He was a huge super fan of the 2018 Seneca irish softball team. I´ll never forget how happy he was for our teams success. Truly one of the best journalist and people. He will never be forgotten.
