Died: December 8, 2025 in Marseilles, IL
William Fenton Swanson, 78, of Marseilles, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025 at his home.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Crossbridge Community Church in Ottawa. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. at the church with Pastor Harold Flach officiating. Military honors will be accorded following services at the church. Private burial will be Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements and cremation rites.
William was born on March 23, 1947, in Ottawa, to Spence William and Grace (Fenton) Swanson. On September 14, 1968, he married Sharon Frost of Marseilles who survives.
He served in the U.S. Army. Bill was employed by Nabisco until his retirement. He was an avid golfer and loved his family and watching his kids and grandchildren's sporting events.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; his children, Brad (Juli) Swanson, Spence (Jennifer) Swanson, and Cortney (Roger) Kaufman; his nine grandchildren, Luke, Abe, Drew, Nate, Kate (Devon), Jake, Claire, Drake, and Joel; a sister, Dorothy Leigh; and his bonus daughters, Candy Larson, and Annie Anderson.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents; his aunt and uncle, Mary and Marion Fenton; and his brother-in-law, Terry Leigh.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to Marseilles Nursing Service or Feed His Children at Crossbridge Community Church.
