Ellen Rudolph
Hendersonville - Ellen Corinne Taylor Barnard Rudolph, 82, of Fleming Island, FL, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at Isle Health and Rehabilitation. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, to the late A. Raymond Taylor and Cora Adams Taylor. She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Alan D. Rudolph (2015), and her brother Frank G. Taylor. (2005).
Ellen graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in Queens, New York. She previously resided in Hendersonville, North Carolina; Hicksville, New York; Smithtown, New York; and Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. As a young woman, she was very proud to work for the New York City office of Trans Canada Airlines, where she commuted to New York City via the Long Island Railroad with her father who also worked in the City. She also worked for the Bank of Smithtown and Schechter & Schechter Law Office, both in Smithtown, New York.
She was a strong Christian who loved Jesus and wanted to share the message of salvation with everyone. Ellen loved going to church and being with people. She attended Hollis Presbyterian Church, Queens, New York; Ritson Road Alliance Church, Oshawa, Ontario, Canada; Smithtown Gospel Tabernacle, Smithtown, New York; and First Church of the Nazarene, Hendersonville, North Carolina.
Some of her favorite interests were get-togethers with friends and family, Bible Studies, reading devotional books, and writing letters. She also loved dogs, coffee, chocolate, and ice cream.
Ellen is survived by her daughter Heather Manazir and her husband Gregg of Fleming Island, Florida; son Jamie Barnard and his wife Adrianne of New Hyde Park, New York; granddaughter Taylor Barnard of New Hyde Park, New York; Uncle Vinnie Puzio (100 years old) and cousin Valli Puzio Blumstein of Sea Cliff, New York, and cousins, nephews, and nieces in New York, Florida, Virginia, South Carolina, Colorado, and Texas.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 19, 2021, at one o'clock pm in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Hendersonville, North Carolina with Pastor Eddie Clayton and Pastor Joe Quinn officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. A graveside and fellowship time will follow the service.
