I am just learning of the passing of Professor Krapcho. I was one of those 6000 undergraduates he taught - and he inspired me to pursue my bachelors degree in chemistry through his organic chemistry classes. I later earned my Ph.D. At Texas A&M University under F. Albert Cotton and now have worked 35 years in industry with 28 US patents in process chemistry and catalysis - all due in part to Professor Krapcho´s inspiration. Thanks, Paul. And just so you know, I honored your "in lieu of flowers" suggestion...

I started out as an English major and ended up with a degree in Chemistry and an MD. Many many thanks to Dr Krapcho. Hands down one of the best!
