Aaron Beaver Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Premier Funeral Services - Salt Lake City from Nov. 25 to Nov. 26, 2025.
Dale Sharon Craghead (née Weiss) passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Los Angeles, California, to Charlotte and Sandy Weiss, Dale graduated from Hollywood High School and later from the Gemological Institute of America. She became the first female gemologist in South Africa and went on to work as a jewelry designer and artist for many years in both Los Angeles and Park City, Utah.

Dale met the love of her life, Jim (James) Craghead, in 1976, and they were married on August 6, 1978. Together they raised twin daughters.

Beyond her deep love for family, Dale's greatest passion was art. She was never limited to a single medium and had a gift for transforming anything into art. Her creativity was boundless-no piece of paper was safe from her doodles. Dale served as President of both the Park City Professional Artists Association and the Summit County–Park City Arts Council. She also shared her love of art with children, teaching arts and crafts in Southern California and Utah. Her lifelong creativity continues to inspire her children and grandchildren, who all share her love of making and creating and especially cooking.

Dale is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jim Craghead; her daughters Robin Gordon (Paul) and Julie Levine (Jason); and her three beloved grandchildren, Alexandra, Jaylan, and Kaiya.

A celebration of life open house will be held on Saturday, November 29, from 1:30–5:00 p.m. at her home (1729 E. Kensington Ave., Salt Lake City, 84108).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or the Huntsman Cancer Foundation.
