Aaron Taylor Brockman, 44, died unexpectedly on July 14, 2024. Aaron was born on October 24, 1979, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas to Robert Brockman and Judy Bush Brockman. He graduated from Central Missouri University in May 2005 with a Bachelor’s in Earth Science. Aaron started his own company after working in the oil and gas industry for a brief time.

He married Melissa Smiglewski July 16, 2011, and they eventually had three children, twins Dune and Natasha and later, Dakota was added to the family.

Aaron’s love of his children was shown by his own inner child. He and the kids were either building things, working on the go-cart, fishing, nature walks or any number of activities he and Melissa could think of. He made a teeter totter, installed a slide from the deck to the yard and dressed as a dinosaur on Halloween and that was only the start.

Animals were a big part of their lives and some of those needing homes found their house.

There is hardly a way to describe Aaron’s sense of humor and his willingness to try different things. Those who loved him will miss him deeply.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents David and Jerri Bush, uncle and aunt Dave and Jayleen DePooter, and step-grandparents James and Iverne McKee.

He is survived by his parents Judy McKee and step-father Dennis McKee and Robert Brockman and step-mother Judy Brockman, brother Jon Brockman and sister-in-law Monica Brockman, nephews Ryder and Dillon Brockman, step-brother Chad McKee and wife Wendy and their children Joey, Grace, Maddie and Abbie, step-sister Sarah Sacco and husband Joey, their children Joey, Bentley and Brecken all of Kansas City and step brother Ryan McKee and children Arlo and Ona of Ft. Collins, CO.

A Loving Remembrance is scheduled for August 9th, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, 1640 N. M-291 Highway, Liberty, MO 64068.

In lieu of flowers please send donations at Wayside Waifs, 3901 Martha Truman Road, Kansas City MO 64137, or an organization of your choice.
