Salazar Funeral Homes & Crematory - Reflections ChapelIn loving memory of Abe Vigil, who graced this world with his presence from October 28, 1948, until August 9, 2025. A gentle soul with a heart full of care and creativity, Abe was beloved among those fortunate enough to know him.
He was preceded in death by his parents,\ Ernesto and Carlota Vigil, and brother Gabriel Sanchez.
Abe is survived by his wife Antoinet Vigil; daughter Zarah Garringer; brothers: Ernie Vigil, Dan Vigil, sisters: Onila Garcia, Carol Chavez, and Selina Lujan.
Born in Mountainair, Abe's life was enriched by his deep love for horses, which he both rode, trained, and showed with great dedication. His passion for these magnificent animals spoke to his gentle spirit and his ability to connect with nature. Abe also developed a passion for architecture, particularly drawn to the beauty of foreign buildings and the intricacies of interior design. His appreciation grew during his travels, where he would often explore the breathtaking architecture that inspired him. These experiences enriched his life and broadened his love for diverse landscapes. His appreciation for beautiful spaces was reflected in the house he called home in the East Mountains, where he found joy creating and building unique structures. His garage was often filled with the sounds of construction as he worked tirelessly on various projects, surrounded by an array of tools and loose parts, ever ready to make something special for his family and home.
Abe's creative talents extended beyond architecture; he was also a guitarist, using music as another form of expression that added harmony to his life and the lives of those around him. Abe’s greatest treasure was his family, cherishing 36 years with his wife, Antoinet. Their marriage was a testament to his selflessness and his desire to help everyone he encountered. Known for his caring nature, Abe consistently lent a hand to those in need and prayed for the world and its people, reflecting a kindness that will be deeply missed. Abe was not one to seek the spotlight; rather, he found fulfillment in the peacefulness of creation and meaningful connections with those around him.
