Ada Mae Turner, 78 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 16, 2024 at Fountain View of Monroe.
Born June 20, 1946 in Monroe, Ada was the daughter of the late Austin M. and Mary M. (Orick) Turner. Ada attended Monroe Public Schools and was a 1964 graduate of Monroe High School.
Ada was employed in the facilities management division for DTE Energy in Detroit for over 25 years. In 2002 for her meritorious service to the company, she was given both the Alex Dow Award and the Sarah Sheridan Award. After many years of perfect attendance, Ada retired on January 29, 2010.
A devout Christian and a woman of great faith her entire life, Ada taught Sunday School, youth ministries and enjoyed Bible study. After retirement Ada made it her mission to bring the word of God and comfort to many in Monroe County. She would visit nursing homes, hospitals and people's homes daily. She was always available to someone in need. Ada supported church missions and Bible colleges. Most of all Ada loved time spent with her family and friends.
Ada is survived by her sister, Joann Stoner of Monroe, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
In addition to her parents, Ada was preceded in death by six siblings: Hazel (Huie) Leach, Mildred (Ted) Hawkins, Doyle (Maggie) Turner, Hoyle (Thelma) Turner, Kenith Turner, and Junior Turner and a brother-in-law, Norm Stoner.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 2-8 pm at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, Michigan, 48161, where a time of reflection will be held at 6:00 pm that evening.
A private committal service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Evangelistic Faith Ministries.
