Obituary published on Legacy.com by Goldman Funeral Group - Skokie Chapel on Oct. 22, 2025.
Adam M. Brodsky, 48, of Deerfield, IL passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025 after a long and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Providence, RI, Adam, one of five siblings, was the beloved son of Lynn and Elliott Brodsky. His childhood was filled with friends and adventure. Early on, Adam developed a passion for music and sports becoming a devoted Phish fan, attending dozens of shows throughout his life, and an avid supporter of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. After spending a summer in Israel as a young man Adam's Judaism and spirituality became a guiding force in his life.
Adam graduated from George Washington University with a bachelor's degree in business administration. After college, he moved to New York City where he began his career on Wall Street on the trading desk at Spear, Leeds & Kellogg. Adam thrived in that fast paced and high pressure environment and was known for his magnetic ability to connect with people and build relationships. In 2005 he was recognized as one of the Top 30 Traders Under 30 by Trader Monthly Magazine. He would go on to touch almost every aspect of the finance industry during his prolific career.
In 2004 Adam moved to Chicago where he quickly met the love of his life, his wife Dana. They married in 2006 and over the next two decades built a home filled with love, laughter and family.
Adam was enthusiastic about life and possessed an insatiable curiosity. He was known for his work ethic, tenacity and never give up attitude. No matter what challenges he faced, Adam met them with a rare and relentless optimism that touched everyone he met.
But nothing was more important to Adam than being a dad to his daughter Harper and his son Brody. He approached fatherhood with great intention and purpose, teaching them his "playbook" for life. He was a fixture in their lives, instilling in them his core values of critical thinking, toughness and kindness. More than anything, Adam shared with them his unwavering belief that "everything would always work out." His memory will be a blessing for everyone who knew him.
Adam is survived by his wife Dana (Levin), their children Harper and Brody, his parents Lynn Brodsky and Elliott Brodsky, his four siblings Julie Medina, Amy Diamond, Todd Brodsky, and Max Brodsky (Liz), Dana's parents Roger and Cher Levin and Dana's sister Lauren Cherney (Michael).
