Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Dobereiner Family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to troops in Afghanistan this week and we'll be dedicating several of these to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and the hometown of PFC Adam E. Dobereiner. We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,

To the family of Adam, I'm am so sorry for your loss. I did not know Adam well, but I worked with him and I was with him the day he left us. Adam was very brave and did his job despite the risks it involved. Adam touched my life in a way that I will never forget. Just know that he made a difference in this war and helped us to achieve something great where we are at. Adam, you will never be forgotten.

Dear Doberiner Family,
I have no words that can express how bad I feel for the Loss of your son, grandson, brother, uncle.
I know that Dobe is in a better place and is looking over every single one of you. We had such good times as he was a Cubs fan and I was a white sox fan. We both did like the bears. He was such a hard worker and caring always making sure people were doing good. I just want y'all yo know that there has not been a day that I don't think about him while I was in the hospital bed. I am on of the two injured soldiers that was in the vehicle with him. I was next to him in the truck as the vehicle commander. May the lord give y'all strength and Dobe you are a true hero only 1% of the population in America fights to protect everyone freedom. God Bless

Dear Dobereiner family,
I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I'm home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I'm only a civilian
And I don't even know if it's allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn't make it home.
I know you're in God's presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
I Salute You.

For those us that won't be able to attend Adam's memorial, I would like to suggest a tribute. I didn't know Adam, but from the little I've learned of him this week, I think this is something he would approve of and appreciate.
Today, in honor of Adam, Take the time to seek out a veteran, someone you don't know, a stranger. If he/she has time, talk with them, show them you care. Thank them for taking time out of their life to protect your freedom. Tell them what a special gift that is.

I wanted to take the opportunity to tell you how proud I am of your son Adam. My son, PFC Joshua Dukes, was with Adam through Boot Camp, was stationed with him at FT Hood and proudly served with him in Afghanistan. My heart goes out to your family; I cannot imagine what you are going through, the nightmare that all parents have about war became very real in your life last Friday and my family mourns this horrific loss with you. Please know that you (Adams family and friends) are in my continuous prayers. I pray daily that God will wrap his arms of Love around you and give you a peace that only comes from Him.

My words spoken the week you passed were about another local soldier, "too close to home", then came the news of your death and I learned I have known your extended family for years, as well as the news of my oldest nephews departure at the end of the year. My we find PEACE. Thanks for the courage to enlist, fight and ultimately die for our country. We are forever greatful.

To the family of and to PFC Dobereiner, we just celebrated veterans day a few weeks back. My Pastor made a special presentation as he does every year in honor of all the veterans who have served in any war for this country, or in any military service. Having lost a son to another circumstance, I can tell you this, those that loved you weep with a pain so deep they will not understand for a long, long time. But, I honor, praise and respect you PFC Adam E. Dobereiner for your love of this country, your love of freedom, and your willingness to serve. Thank you and may the God of all peace and understanding give your loved ones comfort at this time.
I look at your face and see a smile that can brighten the hardest of hearts and a soul proud to be a part of the United States Army.
God Bless you our child,
Sincerely,
Deborah A. Romano

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to PFC. Adam E. Dobereiner our Brother-in-Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Adam. And to Adam it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the supreme sacrifice he made for his country while opposing enemy forces in Afghanistan. No greater love is shown than a man lay down his life for another. Adam, you are a brave American Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,307 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Adam's family and loved ones.
