To The Zanutto Family
I served with Adam in fact i was there that very daY. He was the first nice Senior Marine i met in Twenty Nine Palms. I think of him almost daily as i continue my service in the Marines. I still remember that eary sound of the blast and Sonnenberg calling out to him over the radio. I dont know how i could of gotten through everything without the things he taugh me. That day in Ramadi was the worst day in my life so far. It still brings tears to my eyes every time i think about it. I still honor his life everyday by living on with everything he taught me and how to always be happy no matter what was goin on. To the other marines of 3rd Platoon we all remember him for everything he ever did for us. I know he will forever live on with us and never be forgotten. I promise I will never forget him to the day i die. He is still the big brother to me in the Corps. I am still remember driving him to Charlie Med in Ramadi to this day and the feelings i had and the tears that were dripping off my face when i arrived and transfered him to someone elses care. ADAM i know you will always and forever watch over me and our brothers that still serve. So to the Zanutto Family remember that the ones he touched are still here and makeing his memory live on with us. HE WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN FOR AS LONG AS I LIVE!!!!!!!

It seems only right to honor you on this Fourth of July. If it weren't for you, your brothers in arms, our veterans, and all branches of our Military, we would probably be living a very different life right now.
Because of you and the others we are able to enjoy freedom. From freedom of speech, freedom of religion, to ordinary thing like shopping, owing a car, and just taking a walk, we thank you. Thank you just doesn't seem enough. I will Honor you and I Will Never Forget.

Early this morning, we took flowers and a small flag and laid them on the sand at Adam's memorial site at Arlington West in Santa Monica; it was a small gesture for such a magnificent human being.
Adam touched all who knew him with his quiet strength, calm demeanor, wonderful sense of humor, and immense courage. He gave everything for our Country and there is no gesture large enough to acknowledge this act of pure selflessness.
He was a beloved Son, Brother, Husband, Grandson and Friend. We are humbled, we are saddened and we will always remember you Adam.

As a former Marine, I know that Adam was well aware of what he entered into by becoming a Marine. I am also certain that he was doing what he wanted to do and that he, unlike so many others, was living a full and honorable life. Know that his fellow Marines where just as heartbroken as you, because he was part of their family, as well. There are those who can never understand what it is to be a Marine and there are those that do. Those that do, will always remember what each and every Marine who has given, not sacrificed, the ultimate for his family and this country. I will also.
Thank you Adam and may God bless

I can't even find the words...I lost my 19 year old son--5 Sept 2007, Balad, Iraq. I am absolutely devastated and I know that you are too...but find comfort in the fact that we will see our loved ones, our heroes again. Do I wish that I could trade places with my son? ABSOLUTELY not. He is in the arms of our Lord--"And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away" ~Rev 21:4

I happened to be searching the Piute Mountain website and was not only surprised that there was a site, but shocked to find a play area dedicated to Adam (that is were I remember him). My sisters and I went to school with him; I believe that he was in the lower grades when I attended that school. He was a sweet little boy and obviously turned out to be an exceptional young man. Congatulations for having such a hero in your midst for all of those years that he graced your home. He is and will be remembered fondly. May the Lord sustain you during your lives here without him until you are reunited.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

Corporal Z was my vehicle commander. He made me feel less anxious on missions. He shared his knowledge of weapons systems and passed them on to me. I'll never forget what he would say to me, "Doc, clean your weapon one piece at a time." I use that as an analogy with my life. I did the best I could that day. I miss him and another adam. Dear Amber, Donna, Richard, Scott, and Kelly,
Words cannot express our deepest sympathy for you and your family. I have stopped at this page numerous times, and have attempted to write each time. I want you to know that we are constantly thinking about your entire family. Our thoughts and prayers are constantly with you. Not a day has gone by that we haven't spoken of Adam and your family. We start and end each and every day with a prayer that your family may find inner peace and strength. Only a few people know and can comprehend what a family goes through when a soldier is injured in the line of duty. Those long hours we spent in the ICU waiting room are forever printed in my mind. Your family is so strong and you gave my family inspiration. The stories we told about our Marines made the time go by faster and the waiting a little easier. Ben speaks very higly of him, and says Adam was a great leader and Marine brother. "I loved that man!" was a quote from Ben. Adam made the ultimate sacrifice, and is a hero beyond words, he will never be forgotten. Your family will hold a place in my heart always!

Dear Zanutto Family,
My Grandmother Joan Zuber, called last night and shared with me that Adam had made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. I am so sorry and my heart goes out to you and your family. No words can describe how much it saddens me to know that you have lost Adam. Just this Christmas I went back home to Piute Meadows with my children and my Grandmother shared with me how proud you all are of Adam and told me about your message you had on your voicemail. My husband is currently in Iraq as you may already know and is due home shortly. I can only rely on my faith and belief in knowing his purpose of protecting the peace of our home, the United States of America, to get me by from day to day. I will remember you and all of our Fallen Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmen with every Sunrise and every Sunset. I will keep you always in my prayers,
With deepest sympathies,

My name is jeremy daniell, I have just found out of the loss of Cpl. Zanutto. I deeply saddens me to hear of his loss. I was one of the first Cpl's to meet Cpl. Zanutto when he first came to Iraq as a private. I spent the last 6 months of my time in the Marine's with Zanutto and would like to send my deepest regards to his family, Adam was a good person and a great Marine. I have not looked at my photo's of the Marine Corps since the day I got out. I will be going through them soon and will send any Pics I have of Adam. Again, my heart goes out to every family member and friend of Adam.
Sincerely, Jeremy S. Daniell

Though I did not know Adam personally, I wanted to extend my deepest sympathy. I know exactly how hard it is because I lost my brother LCpl Matt Snyder on March 3rd. One of the Marines who stayed with us through this time told us that 'we would always be a Marine family'. It is definitely not under the best of terms, but it is very true. We are all connected. If there is anything we can do to help your family, please dont hesitate to ask. I wish you all the best, and hopefully , through time, we will all be alright . At least we can rest easy, knowing we are being kept safe by the best. Matt and Adam will be watching over us from now on.

Amber, I am a first cousin to Adam's grandfather, Oliver. My wife
Mary and I visited with him last
month when we were in Los Angles. He
was so proud of his grandson. Although we are separated by the
many miles, and we will never meet,
I do wish to reach out to comfort
you - to hold your hands. Please
know we share your great sorrow and
pain. You are in our thoughts and
in our prayers. Peace be with you
and your loved ones.

Psalm 23
1
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
2
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
3
He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
This is a verse that I have found to be comforting to me during my husbands death. Remember that when it seems that no one else is round, God is still there with you! And he will be your rock! And that we now know our "Guardian Angel" personally!
My daughter,McKaLyne, and I send our heartfelt sympathy for your loss! God Bless this warrior, God Bless those whom serve freedom's cause! They are our true HERO's!!!!

To the family and close friends of this brave soldier-
I went to FHS with Adam and although he was just an acquaintance to me, i just wanted to send my condolences to you all. Your son has not died in vain, he will forever be known as a true hero as he gave his life for his country. Even now as i type this my heart aches for your loss. I am reminded of the scripture, that there is NO GREATER love then this, that a man would lay down his life for a friend...
May the peace that passes all understanding guard your hearts especially now and always!
God bless you

To Adam's Family...
Simple written words cannot express my condolences for your loss. To know that Adam served with honor, and grace and compassion. That he served at the pleasure of the United States of America with great intent, and committment and pride.
For Adam, and those who serve this country in a manner which I cannot even begin to fathom, I am grateful. Before his family, who support our country and those who continue to serve, I am humbled.
I opened my closet door today, and found a bag of goodies that were meant for Adam and his cohorts. A bag I gently put aside weeks ago, unable to read the note I always keep attached on the outside which says, "Remember Adam - for the next box"
Please know that we will never forget Adam, or how graced we have been to know his extended family.
Our hearts go out to you, now and through the days to come.

Dear Zanutto,
Even though we have never met, I feel as if we are part of a "family". My daughter's fiancee was killed in Iraq on Oct. 3,2005 by an IED. It is my prayer that you will feel God holding you close to His heart as He has held my family through these past months. May you feel His peace and comfort as you pass through these difficult days.

To the family of Cpl. Adam O. Zanutto:
I am deeply saddened to sign yet another guest book. We grieve with you in the loss of your precious husband/son Adam. I know how you are feeling and what you must be going through. We lost a son in Iraq on December 1, 2005.
As a wife/mother/parent I know there is nothing I can say that will ease your pain and sorrow over the terrible loss of your husband/son. I know your hearts are broken and there is a deep sadness and a void in your heart that will never be filled. While the pain will probably never leave, I pray that God comforts you and gives you peace to help you cope over time.
This is an extremely difficult time, but hold on to those good memories of your husband….the ones that make you laugh and remember with joy the moments that you shared. The laughter between all those tears is one of the ways that will help you work through your grief. Adam is a hero (a man admired for his achievements and noble qualities) and even though we were not fortunate enough to know him we pray for your family and for all those serving our country. Your husband and son, our son, and countless others have made the ultimate sacrifice and they will always be honored and never forgotten. Unfortunately these tragic events have bound all of us together and changed our lives forever. God Bless you and your family.

There are no words to express our gratitude and appreciation to everyone for their cards, gifts, donations, visitations, attending the services, food, and much more in the death of our "Marine" Adam. What an outpouring of love and support from family, friends, neighbors, the Marines & strangers. There will always be a hole in our heart, and we will never forget.

I never knew Adam, but feel like I now do after reading all the heartfelt postings from family and friends. I believe I'm a distant cousin, since there aren't many Zanuttos in the US. I deeply feel your sorrow and know with time, you will continue to feel Adam's love to strengthen you each day. Signed, a former Woman Marine (1986-1992).

I would like to thank all of you who have written in with your love and support from the bottom of my heart, with each passing day I must pull through, knowing that, "it is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all." I would like to say how very sorry I am for your loss. Adam is a true hero that we will never forget. My son is a marine in Iraq and I just want you to know that I will be praying that the lord will wrap you in his arms and comfort you. It pains me each time we loose one of our fine fighting men or women. The ultimate sacrifice you and he have made for our country will not be forgotten. I wish for you the strength you will need in the coming months. Whenever you think you have nothing left, look to these pages and gain strength and comfort from all of us. God bless you.
