Adele Zaharek Obituary
Adele was born April 17, 1949, in Mofassa Piacenza, Italy, the daughter of the late Emlio and Maria (Gradoni) Peveri. She was a Court Clerk employed by the State of Connecticut until her retirement.
Adele enjoyed her time with Rit, family and friends, shopping, cooking Italian meals, traveling down south for the winters, spending a few weeks each summer at the ocean and hearing the winning sounds of slot machines. In addition, she was a believer in God with a big heart and strong work ethic.
Adele is survived by her husband and best friend Rit, step children, Janice Zaharek and fiancé Ronnie Kittle of Torrington, CT, Richard Zaharek Jr. and his wife Lisa of Aiken, SC, Lori Demaraies of Canaan, CT; step grandchildren, Robbert "Kyle" Messick, Kassi Brockamer and her husband Derrick, Richard "Trey" Zaharek III and his wife Danielle, Haley Zaharek, Christopher "C.J." Root, Erik Root, Joel Demaraies, James Demaraies; nieces Tina DePaul and daughters Ashley, Lindsey and Rylee and great great niece Maleah; Wendy Calabrese and her husband Vinnie and sons Joey, Nicky and Dominic, Audrey Cremasco and her husband Rick, Carmelina Calabrese and Angela Calabrese; sister-in-law Judy Willoughby; nephew Jason Jerrykitz and his daughters Sage and Carly and many other very special relatives and their families in the United States and abroad. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, John Marciano, infant daughter, Denise Marciano and brother Joseph "Pino" Peveri.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 18, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Church, (St. John Paul the Great Parish), 99 East Main St., Torrington, CT. Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at St. Peter Church. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT.

I did not know Adele very long but in the short month and a half she made me feel like family. I could not enter or exit the home without a great big hug and Italian pastires to eat on the road. She was truly a very kind soul and one that will be truly missed.
