A beloved member of the Hillsboro, Oregon community, Adelia Brady passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Hillsboro Medical Center. She was born on June 29, 1949, in Portland, Oregon, to James and Phoebe (Bates) Bishop. She spent most of her early years growing up in the Bonny Slope area of Portland.
Known affectionately as Dee, Adelia was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, mother, and Grandmother.. She is survived by her children: Janeen Kelly & husband Pete, James Brady, David Brady and his life partner Christine Morris, and Mark Brady and his wife Laura, along with her 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
As a devoted Mother, Adelia made countless personal sacrifices to ensure her children's safety and well-being. A hardworking single mother, she took immense pride in her Family, Faith, and work. Dee treated everyone with love and respect, always generous to a fault. She was never afraid to speak her mind and stood up for her beliefs, encouraging her family to do the same.
Her passions included singing, reading, and painting, and she never missed an episode of Jeopardy. A highlight of her life was playing Aunt Eller in her church's production of "Oklahoma," which brought her great joy.
Adelia was deeply loved by friends and family alike. Her legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering support will be cherished, and she will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
