Adeline R. Erickson, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2024, in Houston, Minnesota at the age of 95. Born on May 24, 1929, in Rushford, Minnesota, Adeline was the cherished daughter of Carl and Mabel Baker. Raised with a strong sense of community, she attended the local country school, where her spirited personality began to shine.
In her early years, Adeline was married to Wallace Engrav, with whom she later parted ways. She began her work career first as a bookkeeper at the Rushford Creamery and then later at TRW in Rushford.
Adeline's journey led her to love once more when she married Laurel Erickson, and together they created a home on his farm in Yucatan, Minnesota. She became a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, where her commitment to service was evident. Known for her kindness and welcoming spirit, she tended bar in Houston, forging connections with patrons who were drawn to her bubbly personality and infectious laughter.
A passionate flower gardener, Adeline's yard was often recognized as "Yard of the Month," full of colorful blooms that mirrored her vibrant spirit. Music, singing, and dancing were central to her life; she had a special way of lighting up any room with her joyful presence. Adeline was a faithful member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, where her faith and love for community thrived.
Adeline's most profound joy came from her grand and great-grand children, who adored her and cherished the memories they created together. Her kindness and ability to make others smile were hallmarks of her character, earning her the description of "one of a kind."
Adeline's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of ValleyView Health Care for the wonderful care and support she received during her later years.
She is survived by her daughters, Mona(Dale) Feller, Gwen (Rick) Rostad; grandchildren, Amy (Erik), Ryan (Chrissy), Alyssa, Becca; great-grandchildren, Bailey, Arik, Emmie, Lily, Oscar; and sister-in-law, Ramona.
Adeline is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Mabel; step-dad, Earl Sorum; husbands; siblings, Art, Milda, Marv; great-grandson, Ethan; and brother-in-law, James.
A memorial services for Adeline R. Erickson will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston, MN at 11am with visitation beginning at 10am. Adeline will be laid to rest at Stone Church Cemetery in Houston, MN.
