Adeline Seitz

Adeline Seitz, 86 year old resident of Pierz, died Tuesday, April 1 at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, MN. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, May 9 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding with Father Aaron Nett officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of the service. The burial will be held on Monday, May 12 at 10:00 A.M. at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls.

Adeline “Addie” Helen Woitalla was born to the late Roman and Martha Woitalla on July 19, 1938 in Harding. She was united in marriage to John Smuda on October 15, 1957 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding. They made their home together in International Falls. The couple later divorced. She later in life married Levi Seitz on July 19, 1999. She worked as a cook and nursing assistant in International Falls. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking, and bingo. Adeline especially enjoyed taking trips up north for blueberry picking, visiting with family and friends, and occasional trips to the casino.

Left to cherish her memory are sons, Wayne (Jennifer) Smuda of Pierz, MN, Daniel Smuda of International Falls, MN, John Smuda of International Falls, MN; daughter, Janice (Tom Kowalzek) Smuda of Pierz, MN; sister, Alvina Rutten; sister in laws, Pat Woitalla; former husband, John Smuda; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and friends.

Proceeded in death by her parents, Roman and Martha Woitalla; husband, Levi Seitz; daughter, Deb Smuda; brothers, Leo and Archie Woitalla and an infant sister, Mary.
