ADOLFO CHAVEZ Obituary

ADOLFO AUGUSTINE CHAVEZ III
With heavy broken hearts, we lost our best friend, husband, son, brother, father, uncle and grandpa (poppie).
Adolfo Augustine (Gus) Chavez III of Santa Fe, born October 18, 1976, left us on December 11, 2021.
Adolfo is preceded in death by our Dad George Russom, Grandma Inomia Chavez, Step-Grandfather Lester Kruta, Cousin BettyJo Quintana, Aunt Rose Quintana, Uncle Manuel Quintana, and Uncle Manuel (Butch) Martinez.
Adolfo spent his early life in Chama, he loved his Chama Mountains and the Train. He would go camping any opportunity he had rain, snow or shine.
Adolfo moved to Santa Fe, went to Chaparral Elementary, Alameda Jr. High and Santa Fe High School.
Adolfo had a beautiful soul, anyone that knew him loved his wonderful smile, gifted brilliance and charm. He had a compassionate heart, would give you the last dollar in his pocket or the shirt off his back. He volunteered at the homeless shelter and was a GED tutor. His last big hearted gift on earth was a donation of his organs to help save lives on December 16, 2021. We hope his gracious gift helped others live a great healthy life.
Adolfo was a one of a kind, one of the most intelligent men that walked this earth. His passion was to read, he read thousands of books, he loved music, movies and TV, he loved the moon and studied the stars. His favorite theoretical physicist and cosmologist was Stephen Hawking, his favorite astrophysics was Neal Degrasse Tyson and Brian Greene introducing superstring theory. He was a Jeopardy enthusiast and exceptional at Chess. He loved the 49ers. He was an excellent baker, enjoyed baking birthday cakes.
Adolfo is survived by his Father Adolfo (Pops) Chavez, Mother Cheryle Russom-Beasley (Barry), Grandma Shirley Russom-Kruta, Wife Sandra Chavez, Sister Bambi Russom (Jacob), Brother Jimmy Rylee, Son Xavier Chavez, three step-children, ten grandchildren, five nephews, three nieces, his loving aunts Candy and Chena, special cousins Bea Martinez and Ty Hill, other numerous aunts, uncles, friends and family that loved him very much and would do anything for him.
We cherished him, he was so precious to us, he will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will take place at a later date in Chama, New Mexico.
