Adrian Brummer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Miller’s Tulare Funeral Home on Feb. 17, 2026.
Adrian "Adrianne" G. (Taylor) Brummer
September 25, 1928 – February 15, 2026

We give glory to God for the life of our mother, Adrian Brummer, a long-time resident of Tulare. She lived a full life and passed away gracefully surrounded by family at the age of 97.
The fourth of six daughters born to William O. Taylor and Beulah M. Cary Taylor, Adrian was born in Gilroy, California, on September 25, 1928. Shortly after her birth, the family moved to Tulare County and eventually settled north of Visalia in the Taurusa District. She and her sisters worked hard on the family farm picking cotton and milking cows by hand. She would often say their cows were truly the "happy cows of California" because she and her sisters would sing gospel songs as they milked the cows! She attended Visalia Union High School (now Redwood High School) where she was head majorette for three years, and at age 17 was crowned Visalia's Harvest Festival Queen, accomplishments she often spoke about and was very proud of. It was at the Harvest Festival event that her future husband spotted her and said, "I am going to marry that girl," which he did several years later. In 1949 she and Robert (Bob) Brummer were married, and they were able to spend 68 glorious years together before Bob's passing. They were blessed with five children, Brian Brummer, Tim Brummer (Julia), Galen Brummer (Angel), Clarissa Martin (John) and Melissa Sanders (David). Being a wife, mother and grandmother were the greatest joys of her life, and she was involved in her children's many activities including Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, sports, music, dance and band. She was a wonderful hostess and enjoyed cooking, baking (especially birthday and wedding cakes), gardening, exercising, traveling, crafts, and was an exceptional seamstress. Her faith in God was very evident, and she was a very loving, caring and forgiving person. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, reading the Bible and proclaiming God's word as a lector at church. She often helped others in need by purchasing food and leaving it for them on their doorstep, not wanting them to know who left it for them. And, if you ever attended the World Ag Expo, you may have seen her as she volunteered there for many years. She enjoyed working at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, St. Rita's Catholic Church, and she particularly enjoyed her career as a dental assistant to Thomas Drilling, DDS. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and husband. She is survived by her sister Patricia Haury, sister-in-law Betty Jane Arnold, five children, 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Glory Days Assisted Living and American Quality Life Hospice for the compassionate care, comfort and dignity they provided for her.
Well, done, good and faithful servant!
