Adrian Kantrowitz

In pride of place in our family home has sat a photo of Dr Kantrowitz and his team (which included my father) from the Brooklyn and early Detroit research teams.
My father died in an accident in 1971 and I'd always intended to contact Dr. Kantrowitz to discuss his work with my father.
I was therefore saddened to hear of his passing away and will have to make do with my memories of Dr Kantrowitz as a lively and friendly uncle figure, the man who brought our temporary family dog Pirrat to liven up our home in the Detroit Doctors residence where we lived.

What a great man. I have never forgotten the PBS series on the History of Surgery, which he hosted and participated in. His wife was extraordinarily helpful to me in putting together a nursing presentation using some of the video from their personal archives. My sincere condolences and prayers.

You one of the reasons I'm studying medicine now. You're influence has lasted beyond your physical life's one.

Truly one of the greats of medicine and underated.

I enjoyed working in the artificial heart research laboratory together with Mitch Moskowitz and Paul Freed under Adrian Kantrowitz's leadership. He truly was a world leader in cardiac support and replacement.

Back in the late 60s, my father said I was related to Dr. Adrian Kantrowitz...My father passed away in 1985 and I never really found out if the story he told was true...Dr. Kantrowitz....rest in peace.....Steven Kantrowitz

I had the honor of working with Dr. and Mrs. Kantrowitz at the University of Chicago Hospital with the Cardiovad patients. It truly was an honor and a privelege learning from such a pioneer in our filed. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family during this difficult time.

I'd like to add to some comments made by fellow believers YT (NC) who quoted Isa. 33:24 which talks about no resident will say I am sick. Also Jo Anne Jackson (Dallas) who mentioned the God of comfort would be able to comfort or sustain all who mourn. (2 Cor. 1:4; Isa. 61:2), as well as my friends Caring Mourners from Pittsburg.

Not only will sickness be done away with but we are guaranteed a global resurrection here on a paradise earth soon. (Acts. 24:15; Isa. 25:8)

My father was a recipient of the Kantrowitz heart pump at University of Chicago Hospital in 2001. Our family is forever grateful for the quality of life and hope this brought my father when he was so ill with congestive heart failure. We have realized firsthand the results of Dr. Kantrowitz life work and we know millions of people will continue to benefit from his inventiveness and humanity for generations to come. We extend our deepest sympathy to Mrs. Kantrowitz and family. Our thoughts are with you at this sad time. God Bless Dr. Kantrowitz.

Adrian Kantrowitz had remarkable achievements in the medical field, and for that he will always be remembered. He would surely rejoice in the promise found in Isaiah 33:24, "And no resident will say: “I am sick.” The people that are dwelling in [the land] will be those pardoned for their error". We have the divine hope of seeing sickness and death done away with, a hope that will help us through the difficult time of losing a loved one.

What a GREAT MAN. Thanks for all that he done for mankind.

My condolences to the Kantrowitz family. My child was dying of heart failure and was on the LVAD three weeks prior to transplant. It has been nearly 4 years and all is well. Thank You Dr Kantrowitz .May you rest in peace.

A true hero.

The world has lost one of the pioneers in the field of medicine. He had a true compassion to help others and did so for many years. In fact, his research will continue to help others for years to come. He will be missed not only by his family and colleagues, but by any who desire lasting health.

God promises to be with us during our times of distress. May you continue to draw strength and comfort from His word which promises a time when sickness will be no more, and Dr. Kantrowitz' hopes will be realized to the fullest extent. It is our sincere hope that these words bring you a measure of solace during this difficult time.
