Adriana Marichal Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Anderson McQueen Funeral Homes on Oct. 12, 2021.
Adriana R. Marichal, "Nana," 84, of St Petersburg, FL, passed away at home on October 8th, 2021. She was born September 8th, 1937, in Soledad, El Paraiso, Honduras. She lived in Honduras for 33 years. There, she married her beloved husband, Fernando and gave birth to her son, Juan. She then moved with them and her daughter, Roxana, to New Orleans, LA, where she lived for 35 years. In 2005, she moved to St Petersburg, FL, where she could be closer to even more of her family.
Although Nana had her own children, she was like a mother to many; she helped raise her granddaughter, Chelsea. Nana loved to learn and better herself by reading books and her bible. She attended 2 years of community college to learn English and studied literature. She also had many passions and talents. In the '50s, she worked as a stewardess for flights in Central America. In the '60s, she graduated from fashion school in Honduras and created original designs for social events. She even helped Fernando, her husband, as a dental assistant, who continued to practice dentistry in New Orleans. Later in life, she became a licensed cosmetologist. Nana often received compliments on her beauty and style well into her 80s; always with classy outfits, shoes, jewelry, and hats. She had an appreciation for all the beauty in the world, especially animals. She was kind to all, loved making friends, and was incredibly strong yet humble.
Nana will be missed by many, especially her surviving family members in the U.S. and Honduras: her son Juan, daughter Roxana, brother-in-law Hayden, granddaughter Chelsea, brother Nelson, sister-in-law Jenny, nephews Levi and Dan, her sisters Vilma, Chely, Elena, Iris, Maribel, and her brothers Gustavo and Tito. Her soul has now reunited in a better place with her husband Fernando, father Julian, mother Emma, and sisters Elvira, Zoila, and Leticia.
The viewing will take place Thursday, October 14th, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Anderson McQueen . The funeral service will also occur at Anderson McQueen on Friday, October 15th at 10:00 am; and the burial will follow it at Sunnyside Cemetery at .
We love you so much, Nana. Thank you for making such a positive impact on every person you ever came in contact with. You will never be forgotten.
Flowers are welcome, or memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
