Adrienne Conine Obituary

Adrienne Conine

March 12, 1952 - February 29, 2024

Columbia, South Carolina - Adrienne Karen Dorn Conine, 71, of Columbia, SC, passed away peacefully at home on February 29, 2024, after a brave battle with cancer. Born in Miami, FL, she was adopted at birth by the late Sidney Dorn and Harriet Roth Dorn. She is survived by Stanley Davis Conine, her husband of 47 years, more or less, son Dustin DeLange Conine, granddaughter Sadie Elizabeth Conine, grandson Anderson Lee Conine, all of Columbia, and sister Carolyn Dorn of Silver City, NM. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her brother, Jack David Dorn and a stillborn son. She also leaves her favorite daughter-in-law, Lindsay Teague Conine, some very special in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and her close family of neighbors at Renaissance Plaza.

Adrienne graduated from Hialeah HS and earned a B.S. in Psychology from the University of South Carolina. She always championed the forgotten and downtrodden. During college she began working at the SC Department of Youth Services where she and Stanley met. After their marriage in 1977, she moved to the SC Department of Corrections where she founded a program for disabled inmates. Eventually, she joined Stanley in real estate, becoming "Rookie of the Year" her first year and launching a thirty year career culminating with running The Co9 Group, a family brokerage firm, until her retirement. Her passion was all things art-eclectic and colorful-reflected in their home, her clothes, her jewelry, even her hats.

A celebration of Adrienne's life will be held at The River Road and Jasmine House, 2204 North Lake Dr.,

Columbia, SC 29212, on Sunday, March 10, from 2:00 til 5:00 p.m. All are welcome. Feel free to dress free spirit casual and be 10 or 15 minutes late as she would have. Her remains will be cremated and placed in a special place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, preferably one that serves the forgotten and downtrodden.

Dear Stan and Dusty,
My heart is breaking at the news of Adrienne's passing. My sincere condolences to you all! She was such a fabulous woman that I admired and respected for some years now! Always a smile on her face and an upbeat personality. It was contagious!!!! I know Adrienne and all of you really, through real estate and working so many transactions together and also working with fnma homes for many years together. Her and I would talk almost every day on procedure and things going on in our business and industry and we learned so much from each other and had a ton of respect for each other as well. Heaven truly gained an angel and she will be truly missed here! I have respect , adoration for her and she truly loved her life, her family and her business for so many years! The last time I had the privilege of just sitting with her and laughing with her was at a play and dinner at trustus theater with another friend of.ours, Nancy. We had laughs and fun while sipping some wine and just enjoying each other's company. I regret and wish I had seen her since then and would love to tell her how special and fun of a woman she was! She made a mark on my heart for sure and she will be missed. I am sending prayers and hugs to all of you and know I am keeping you in prayers. Here for anything y'all need!

Dusty,
So sorry to hear about your Mom. I still have great memories of her and Stan at the basketball games. After reading about her life, I now know where your "free spirit" comes from. You know you can always count on me and Barb if you ever need us. Love you
Mr. P
